I’m stuck at home today while contractors work on my back patio, which didn’t make it through our rough winter unscathed. The final product will be wonderful, but the process of getting there is causing me major stress.
I woke up with a headache, the yard is a mess, and when the jackhammer started, my cats went into Major Shedding Mode and there is currently cat hair on every surface in the house. By the end of the day, I’m sure one of them will have upchucked somewhere.
I don’t know about you, but when I’m stressed, I EAT. Constantly. Sugar. Salt. Sugar and salt together. Just trying to find the answer that will soothe my stressed out psyche, and if not make the jackhammer go away, make it bearable.
We have a wedding in the family next month, so I’ve been trying to make my snacking healthier today. Lucky for me, we have ShopRite nonfat Greek yogurt in the fridge. It’s loaded with protein (14 grams in a 6 ounce cup!) and it’s thick and creamy, with lots of yummy fruit on the bottom. It comes in flavors like mango, blood orange and black cherry.
I topped my black cherry yogurt with a little dark chocolate and berry granola. Sweet AND crunchy AND chocolate AND healthy, yet it tastes totally decadent. The jack hammer might not be any quieter, but my stomach is happy.
