I love pasta and for years I’ve been a fan of a certain popular brand. When I received samples of ShopRite’s new Imported Organic Specialty Pasta, I contemplated all the weeknight dinner possibilities. For this recipe I decided to keep it simple and use two ShopRite Imported products (San Marzano Tomatoes and Imported Organic Specialty Pasta) to create a simple meal that doesn’t require any culinary expertise. The quality is impressive enough for food enthusiasts, but the recipe is familiar enough to please children.
This recipe relies on a simple technique of creating a homemade marinara sauce. Many food bloggers swear by this method. If you can open a can, slice an onion and boil water, you can do this!
When you have quality ingredients, you know you’re going to have a great meal. ShopRite Imported Organic Specialty Pasta has an ideal texture: it’s hearty and retains an al dente texture, even after being sauced or reheated. I don’t like mushy pasta and I assure you that this pasta retains its integrity. The ShopRite Imported San Marzano Tomatoes are packaged with whole basil leaves, which sets these tomatoes apart from others. They are smooth and slightly sweet without having any of the acidity and bitterness that I find in other canned tomatoes. Keep the pasta and tomatoes in your pantry to get a fresh taste of summertime throughout the year.
